PLEASE READ: caution regarding Wednesday protests

Hi everyone -
Edited the newsletter to reflect this. There has been lots swirling around online about Wednesday protests in the last few hours, where there are many event posters floating around about protests at state capitols all over the country. There is not one clear image, many times floated. It doesn’t seem to be organized by one group, and there is nobody clearly behind it. The person that started the Reddit thread seems to be anonymous. Given everything that’s going on, it makes me a little nervous. I will update if I hear more information, but I would encourage everyone to use extreme caution when deciding whether to attend any events.
I hate to sound like a conspiracy theorist (though with these people all bets are off), but there have been some folks who have wondered if the administration or Musk is trying to set up protests so that they can declare martial law.

Agree with Debbera Carson, this is a legit group (not right wing plant or russian bot) and don't think that more established group should squash it. If anything, those with more experience organizing protest should help them. I have been observing their round the clock work on Discord and am impressed with their passion. Seems like they are here to stay

I think it's important to be open to other channels of organizing. These folks are not on Facebook and won't be. They've been using Instagram, Bluesky, Reddit and Discord. I plan to go.
Any protest/rally can go haywire. Do you think that tomorrow's event at Tillis's office can't go off the rails? Federal building, US senator's office? Yeah, a couple of bad faith actors and you all could end up in jail too.
